It never ceases to amaze me how God moves when we get out of the way. Last night as Justin lead worship, we were singing the song Hungry. The lyrics to this song are so simple yet powerful. It’s a song of action and dedication.
The first line of the chorus is I’m falling on my knees. Action. The second line is Offering all of me. Action. And the third is Jesus, You’re all this heart is living for. Dedication.
Before you can get to the third line, before you can make the dedication, you have to take those actions. If you don’t, you’re just paying God lip service. I shared those thoughts at the end of worship, and invited everyone to humble themselves by responding. Asking them to kneel, surrendering all of themselves, and then finally be able to sing that dedication with some authenticity.
The Lord lead us to pray for those who were bound by addictions, sin, destructive habits, or negative words that had been spoken over them. We prayed for each one that responded, believing in faith, that the Lord was breaking those bondages off of them and their lives. He did that and more! Last night God put lives back on course, set destinies in motion, and propelled those who responded forward in His perfect plan. How great it is to surrender all to the Lord!
I wrapped up my series on Faith with a look at Moses and His faith. It was fear that drove him into the desert. It was faith that lead him back to deliver his people. Fear will always cause you to retreat. Faith will always push you forward into your destiny. What a difference we can make when we truly have faith in God.
